Your First Visit
At your initial consultation with an orthodontist, several procedures will be conducted to help create a personalised treatment plan for you.
Our treatment coordinator will take diagnostic photos of your teeth and face, and X-rays may also be taken to evaluate your jaw alignment and teeth roots. Your teeth, gums, and jaws will be examined for issues like crowding, gaps, or bite problems.
After gathering all necessary information, the orthodontist will discuss the various treatment options available to you, such as braces, Invisalign, or other orthodontic appliances.
They will also provide an estimated duration of treatment, expected outcomes, and process. An estimate of the cost of treatment and payment options will also be given.
Additionally, an intra-oral scan may be conducted to further assess your bite. This digital impression technique creates a highly accurate and detailed 3D model of your teeth, gums, and surrounding oral structures.
You can also ask any questions you may have about the treatment process or concerns.
For children, our initial assessment focuses on evaluating any existing or potential orthodontic issues. Our orthodontist will explain which issues are likely to resolve on their own and identify any areas that may require monitoring.
Most importantly, we will determine if orthodontic treatment is necessary and, if so, the optimal timing for treatment.
By utilising modern techniques at the appropriate time, we can guide or modify jaw growth to reduce or even eliminate the need for complex future treatment or extractions.
After the initial assessment, children are typically enrolled in our growth and development follow-up program, and we will schedule any necessary recalls based on their individual needs.
The consultation appointment generally takes 60 minutes and will provide you with a better understanding of your orthodontic needs and the options available to you.
